How can I become more positive about my body and love myself?
First, body positivity takes practice. And, body positivity is just like learning to do anything new or learning to ride a bike. For one, body positivity takes time to practice. Sometimes, body positivity can take many decades. You can even practice being positive today. To start, say loving things yourself every day. Post notes to yourself with positive compliments like, “You’re beautiful! I am strong and talented! Today is the first day to the rest of my wonderful life!” For personalized, holistic counseling for couples and family therapy, call/text 860-451-9364.
Essentially, every chance your inner critic tries talking negatively is an opportunity for self love and positive affirmations.
Then, remind yourself of all that you have accomplished so far and how strong you are. Remind yourself that your value is more than the weight of your physical body or your skin color. Instead, focus on listing the things that are going well in your life and believe in yourself. Then, write down a list of all the things that you love about your body and things you appreciate about yourself. Thank your body for all that it has done for you! Remember, reframe negative, limiting beliefs into the positive. Generally, working with a holistic couples and family counselor in Connecticut or Florida can help you develop positive self-talk. We help people with anxiety and depression, take back their power of their negative emotions, and thrive.
How can couples and families who are working from home reduce family conflict holistically?
To begin, working from home can be challenging if you have a family, your in-laws or parents are staying with you, your children are young and active, and your dogs are barking. Really, it is normal to feel anxiety and overwhelm. To start, set up a home office where you can close the door and have quiet time to be devoted to your work. And, if you are distracted or frazzled, you won’t be doing your best work. So, create a calm environment and have snacks ready. Prepare yourself to go to work, except just into your separate room. Also, make time for breaks, just like your boss would provide to you if you were working out of the home. Being at home can be more challenging because now the stress of work is in your home. Cleanse your house by opening your windows and letting fresh air inside. Also, fresh air can help cleanse the energy of your workday and prepare for time with your family.

How can eating good meals and nutrition support help my mental health, anxiety, and depression?
Also, have a good breakfast just like you would do if you were going out of the house to work. Now, skipping meals, or only drinking coffee, are not healthy breakfasts. Instead, think about sitting down and really enjoying your meal. When working with a holistic couples and family counselor in Connecticut, you can talk about nutrition worries and fears. Over time, these habits can lead to anxiety, depression, anger, irritability, and a weakened immune system. Therefore, making sure to feed yourself well will have positive impacts on your mental and nutritional wellness. You may find overall more energy, balanced mood, and more laughter.
When it comes to LGBTQIA+, gender and sexuality exploration, how can counseling help couples and adults alike?
When it comes to managing sexual anxieties and exploring sexual identity feelings, it’s important to do this in a healthy way. If you have a partner, talk with them about your anxieties and fears. Also, work with a specialist in LGBTQIA+ and LGBTQ affirming therapist to help you understand and share emotions. If you’re questioning your gender or sexual identity, talk with a therapist who is educated and familiar with LGBTQIA+. For one, you may have dated a female in the past and you might want to start dating males or vice versa. In this case, individual counseling can be helpful for healthy dating. Or, you may also want to express your gender by growing your hair out if you’ve always kept it short, or by cutting your hair if it’s always been long. How can you make your home gym more relaxing and calming? What is the best environment for stretching?
In every home gym, in addition to the squat rack and dumbbells, you will want a relaxing space to stretch. So, set up a few low little lamps and Himalayan salt lamps for a relaxing vibe after your work out. Get an aromatherapy diffuser, so you can add lavender. Also, lavender can help with the stretching phase after your strength building work out in your home gym. You may have bright lights and an awesome boom box for your home gym and work outs as well. However, you want to train your body to relax with peaceful music when stretching. Really, stretching is a slower, longer, relaxing process. So, don’t rush or feel rushed. What does Katie Ziskind like to do for rejuvenating self-care?
Yoga, an ancient medicine, is my favorite form of self care. Also, yoga can encompass a simple mine for a walk outside where you notice the pink flowers blooming, the beautiful blue sky above you, puffs of white clouds, and the blooming white azalea bush next-door. Yoga therapy can also be mindful moving through stretches and yoga poses. For instance, you may do downward dog, warrior two, and end yoga with Shavasana. Also, yoga is a lifestyle and a beautiful way of connecting to all living beings, with your own spirituality. Sometimes, people who do yoga are also vegetarian, but not always. Self-care means nourishing yourself on a deep level and reconnecting to yourself in mind, body, and spirit. For me, yoga is something I can do if I’m in a hotel room traveling, if I am in my backyard, or if I am stressed out about work.
How can I improve communication and speak clearly in my relationship or marriage?
For one, communicating in your relationship takes patience and a calm mindset. So, never communicate when you are frustrated or angry because you might say something you regret. When you’re angry, unfortunately, you might say something mean or hurtful that you wish you could take back after the fact. But, it has been said and the best thing that you can do is to be humble, apologize, and ask your partner for their forgiveness. At Wisdom Within Counseling and Coaching, we help couples stuck in the negative cycle of aggression, hostility, and high conflict fights. We help couples bring back creativity, playfulness, and healthy, healing touch for meaningful emotional connection. Call/text 860-451-9364.
What do healthy communication styles look like for happily married people?
In healthy communication cycles, there is no alcohol and there are no drugs involved for feeling happier. Instead, feeling good and bonded is based on genuine empathy and listening. If you have a high conflict situation or feel aggressive, hire a couples therapist, such as it Wisdom Within Counseling, to teach you skills to and develop healthy communication. If you grew up with parents who fought a lot or argued, understand that you didn’t get to learn healthy communication or genuine empathy. Therefore, a relationship, marriage or couple therapist like myself can teach you the skills that you need to make your relationship more meaningful, emotionally connected, and positive in terms of communication.
