Meet Brianna

A video about self-care for adolescents and teens

I’m a child, teen, adult, couples and family therapist at Wisdom Within Counseling.

To best support couples, I am level 2 trained in Gottman marriage therapy and offer professional guidance for you to promote a healthy relationship with one another.

Couples Counseling

As a couples therapist, I’m head over heels in love with helping couples in counseling. Why, you ask? Well, picture this: It’s like being a love detective, unraveling the mysteries of the heart and decoding the language of love!

I thrive on witnessing the magical transformations that occur when couples discover new ways to connect and communicate. It’s like witnessing a romantic comedy unfold, with all the ups and downs, laughter and tears, and ultimately, a heartwarming happy ending.

Guiding couples through their unique relationship journeys is my passion.

You can go from, “It’s complicated” to “We’re unstoppable!” in couples therapy.

I’m all about creating a safe, judgment-free zone where couples can rekindle the sparks, bust out their dance moves on the relationship dance floor, and write their own epic love story. We can overcome conflict, distance, and anger issues and go on this therapeutic, love-filled adventure together!

As a couples therapist, my love and passion shine through!

I firmly believe that love is a beautiful journey, but it often encounters obstacles along the way. Guiding distant couples through those challenges and witnessing their growth and resilience is immensely rewarding. The opportunity to facilitate healing, foster understanding, and empower couples to rebuild trust and create thriving partnerships fills me with joy and purpose.

I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgmental space where couples can explore their emotions, rediscover their strengths, and develop effective strategies to enhance their bond.

Being able to make a positive impact on their lives and witness their love flourish. Couples therapy can be such as positive experience for you and your partner.

You may be looking a therapist who “gets” you, because therapy should be a place where you feel safe and heard.

I will walk alongside you to help ease the burden you’ve been carrying, going only at your pace, never pushing to a place you don’t feel ready to be. Together, we can help you find hope and discover a new vision for your future. I also believe everyone has the ability to thrive-they just need a little guidance along with unwavering support. The therapeutic approach I use is based on your individual needs as evidenced by self report, intake interview, and assessment. You receive the support you need meeting with me.

You may be looking a therapist who will show you unconditional positive regard, you get that with me. We will start by creating a therapeutic relationship where I learn your story about what brings you into counseling. From there, I will provide you with coping strategies, help you challenge unhelpful thoughts, and help you to process your feelings. We will collaboratively develop a treatment plan and monitor your progress as evidenced by self-report, data, and clinical assessment.

I help depressed and anxious teenagers who may be dealing with thoughts of suicide, bullying, substance abuse, anger, disrespectful or hurtful language towards their parents.

Usually these changes are revealing something much deeper. If you notice your teenager is having difficulty opening up about what’s going on in their world, you’re not alone. Some things to look out for are changes in sleep patterns, indicators of self-harming, isolating, changes in facial expression and tone of voice, changes in appetite. I am here to help support your teenager in a therapeutic way. I use a harm-reduction model and I provide psychoeducation to parents.

Whether your child has recently been discharged from the hospital or it’s their first time in therapy, outpatient therapy is an essential piece to maintaining safety and stabilization in the community.

I help children express their feelings and thoughts in a healthy way. I achieve this through creative approaches, talk therapy and play therapy. There are therapy games and intentional activities used in the sessions with children. This allows for therapy to be conducted while keeping the child’s interest.

Child counseling can improve your child’s behaviors, support emotional expression tools, and reduce the number of tantrums.

A video about couples

When I am not in a therapy session, you can typically find me walking my dog, cooking a new or old recipe, or watching a TV series.

I practice ongoing self-care to show up as the best version of myself when I meet with my clients.

I love being a therapist because it’s a gift to be able to help people who are choosing to be vulnerable with me.

I believe that vulnerability is a huge strength and your vulnerability is safe with me.

My favorite Anxiety coping skill is challenging unhelpful thoughts.

An interesting fact about me is I enjoy practicing meditations. I have been practicing meditations for nine years.

LGBTQIA+ therapist, queer gay therapist, polyamorous couples therapist, same sex LGBTQ marriage therapist infidelity specialist, ENM couples counseling,

“Though there are many phrases for the therapeutic relationship (patient/therapist, client/counselor, analysand/analyst, client/facilitator, and the latest—and, by far, the most repulsive—user/provider), none of these phrases accurately convey my sense of the therapeutic relationship. Instead I prefer to think of my patients and myself as fellow travelers, a term that abolishes distinctions between “them” (the afflicted) and “us” (the healers).”
