I’m glad you are here! Anxiety and depression often go hand in hand. When you have anxiety, you may feel rushed, sweaty palms, racing thoughts, and like you can’t take a deep breath. You might even find yourself with a rush of overwhelming anxiety where you are crying while grocery shopping or when going to bed, and you don’t know why. Sleeping through the night with anxiety has become so difficult. Then depression comes are you are giving into sugar cravings, indulging on candy and sweets, sleeping in until noon, and can’t seem to get motivated anymore. Depression and anxiety are only a part of you. They pop up because you are in survival mode. Even though right now you feel helpless, overwhelmed, and scared, I am here as a resource to help you overcome your depression and build anxiety-reduction coping skills!

Did you know, depression can be called, “the black dog,” and, “the blues.” Depression at the source, can impact work, family, and your love life. Also, you may be feeling sad, anxious, unmotivated, lethargic, hopeless, lack energy, feel extra tried, and even nap more often. Some people with depression even feel urges to self-harm or use drugs and alcohol. Read more about alcohol and drug use, here. Overall, hobbies that used to bring you joy no longer make you happy.

Did you know, two people may experience the push and pull between depression and anxiety very differently. Sometimes depression comes and goes. At other times, anxiety seems to be the emotion running the show. Sometimes, depression can last for the winter or many months afterwards. A certain traumatic event such as, the loss of a loved one, may have lead to a rise in anxiety and depression. Other-times, you may not even know where your anxiety and depression has come from or when it will pass. You are not alone. I understand.
